Animal Rights
Introduction
There
are numerous advantages attached to this research topic. The research not only
focuses on one of the fastest growing topics in society today, but is also
provided with a wealth of information and statistics concerning the various
elements and topics therein. This research topic is relevant in more ways than
one. Over the course of time, animal rights have become an increasingly
important topic. According to Beers, “people
are constantly shifting from the traditional mindset of disregarding animal rights
to embracing these beautiful creatures”1
. Unlike in the past, the society today has been sensitized to take into
serious consideration the rights and privileges of animals. With every new
dawn, more and more people are being sensitized with regards to the right of
animals and the rightful treatment of the various creatures we share our
environment with. The popularity of animal rights continues to grow with every
new dawn. More and more resources are being allocated into research activities
aimed at addressing the rights of animals (Beers).
Most
discussions on rights have been focused on human rights since time immemorial.
The topic of animal rights comes as a new topic within this discussion platform
and more people are getting interested with this new topic and what it has to
offer. As a topic, animal rights are connected to other important and hotly
contested topics. Discussions of the animal rights are important as they bring
out the position of different stakeholders with regards to this issue. Analysis
of the various stakeholders in these discussions brings out the modern trends
in this topic as well as the impact of animal rights in the various
geographical regions. Governments and other elements of the society are
interested in this topic and this is evident in the amount of attention that
has been attributed to the topic of animal rights (Beers).
Conducting
a research on this topic is easy as there are numerous organizations and
institutions that have stored statistics that are foundational in the research
on this topic. The statistics on this subject are kept up to date by the
various continuous studies on the subject. This study is also important in
addressing the questions that have been left unanswered in the course of
previous studies and researches (Sherry).
The society is ever growing interested with regards to animal rights and
their impact to the welfare and well being of animals within the societal
context.
Body
Animal Liberation and developments
The
topic of animal liberation is important as it looks into the animal rights that
have been in existence and the impact of the various animal rights and related
practices. According to Bostock, “animal
liberation is an important element of this research as it brings out what is
familiar in the society with regards to animal rights”2. Although most of the people within the societal setting are not
extensively conversant with the various animal rights, animal liberation is
common in the societal mindset. The concept of animal liberation will be foundational
in the course of the research.
Animal Rights
Animal Rights
The
research is focused on analyzing the foundation of animal rights, the history
therein, and the developments that have taken place over the course of time.
This question is as it provides the entire research with a strong foundation.
Arguing about this question will be undertaken through challenging the default
mindset that exists with regards to the rights of human beings. The question of
whether animals have rights will be handled at the beginning of the research so
as to ensure the audience remains on course throughout the course of the
research.
Animal
rights and the politics of literary representation
In
the research,, the various animal rights will be analyzed in light of the
politics of literary representation. The various stakeholders and shareholders
presented in the topic of animal rights will be foundational in this section of
the research. Here, the researcher will be looking to establish the impact of
political decisions made with regards to exercising animal rights. This section
of the research is also important as it analyzes the developments that have
taken place in the course of time with regards to literary representation.
Animal rights are affected by policies formulated in the political arena in
more ways than one.
Animal
experimentation
The
use of animals in medical and other scientific experiments is of great
importance in the course of the research. The topic of animal experimentation
is so important in the discussion of animal rights that it is practically
impossible to conduct analysis on the research topic without touching on animal
experimentation. Animal experimentation is of great importance as it brings
into the research the place of science in the debate. Science and technology
continue to influence society in different ways. As society evolves, the place
of science and technology continues to become more and more important. Today,
there are lifestyles built entirely on science and technology. Some of the
strongest convictions in the society are founded out of science, technology,
and the various developments therein. In arguing about animal experimentation,
there are numerous convictions established and developed on science and
technology. Medicine continues to be an important force to recon with in the
debate of whether animal experimentation is justified or not. Those in support
of animal experimentation on the basis of medicine have strong convictions with
regards to the debate. The research will be designed to address both sides of
the debate and come up with an informed judgment about the justification of
animal experimentation (Franklin).
Hunting
and human rights
The
topics of hunting and similar practices play an important role in this
research. Hunting will be analyzed with regards to the nature and level of
ethics presented in the practice. Here, the research will look into different
types of hunting and how hunting has evolved over the course of time. Hunting
will also be analyzed with animal rights in mind and how the hunting practices affect
animal rights. This section of the research will be dealt with extensively
since it deals with one of the most common practices that impact animal rights
(Franklin).
Animals
and the entertainment industry
It
is foundational to understand that the entire research revolves around the
relationship between animals and people. There is very little being utilized in
the research with regards to the different animal to animal relationships.
According to Sherry, “the entertainment industry is one of the platforms
through which the relationship between man and animals is established and
constantly enhanced”3. The research will look into the various ways through
which animals in the entertainment industry are used. This information will be
foundational in the analysis of the animal rights and how they are affected in
the course of relating to people within the entertainment industry. Abuse in
analysis of animal rights will not only be defined in light of the relationship
between man and animal, but also with the infringement of fundamental animal
rights in mind (Beers).
The
moral status of animals
This
is perhaps the most valuable element of discussion with regards to defending
the animal rights. According to Kistler, “the moral status of animals is
foundational in the analysis of the relationship that exists between human
beings and animals”4 . Morality in animals is analyzed with foundational
information being borrowed from the human race. This section of the research is
important as it will look into the various definitions of morality and use
these in defining the moral status of animals. The moral status of animals is
the very grounds through which rights for animals are established and
developed. The researcher will focus their attention on similar researches that
have been undertaken to explain and or expound the moral status of animals. The
information therein will be utilized in the analysis of animal rights, their
formation, and the numerous challenges these rights have experienced over the
course of time. The research will invest in looking at the moral status of
animals, its foundations, the changes it has undergone over time, and the
overall impact of this concept in the administration and development of animal
rights (Beers).
The
visibility of violence
The
visibility of violence is one of the most discussed topics with regards to the
subject of animal rights. In the course of the research, the visibility of
violence will not only be explained, but also expounded to come up with
important details concerning the animal rights. The visibility of violence will
also be addressed with regards to the impact it has on the development of
animal rights and how this has changed over the course of time (Franklin).
Artists,
animals, and ethics
This
section of the research will be focused on the various works of articles and
the ethical implications these have over the administration and development of
animal rights, Different artists have different interpretations of animals.
Animals are also utilized differently from one artist to another. It is clear
to understand the attitude of an artist about animals by looking at their
finished products. According to Franklin, “the same platform through which an
artist communicates their feelings about animals is the same arena through
which the animal rights are analyzed”5 . The influence of artists and legendary
artistic pieces in the society will be analyzed in light of the animal rights
and the various developments therein (Sherry).
Conclusion
The topic of animal rights is of great importance in
the analysis of human-animal interactions. The importance of this topic is ever
growing and the platforms for analysis are ever increasing. The society is ever
growing interested with regards to animal rights and their impact to the
welfare and well being of animals within the societal context. The moral status
of animals is foundational in the analysis of the relationship that exists
between human beings and animals. Morality in animals is analyzed with
foundational information being borrowed from the human race. It is almost
impossible to analyze the topic of animal rights without touching on the
different reasons behind breeding animals for food. Breeding animals for human
consumption is by far the greatest element of sensitization with regards to
animal rights.
